Our History
The story of the brand began in 1975, when Luciano Tesorone founded the family business after years of experience in the footwear retail industry. From the very beginning, the brand positioned itself in the world of luxury, offering handmade sandals defined by quality, craftsmanship and refined design.
In 1995 the company opened a prestigious boutique in Porto Rotondo, Sardinia, followed by a retail presence in Antibes on the French Riviera. A few years later, in 1999, Tesorone expanded further with the opening of a store in Palm Beach, Florida, one of the most renowned international destinations for luxury.
"if you cut my veins, there’s not blood coming out but shoes!” Luciano Tesorone - clan patriarch and the man behind the Il Sandalo brand - said this to a client after she bought a sandal at his store in Palm Beach. Forty years ago, Luciano started a small factory in Naples, then a flagship boutique in Sardinia, fashioning strappy sandals made popular by the glamorous people on holiday. Fabio brought the brand Stateside fifteen years ago with headquarters in Palm Beach; another brother, Pier Paolo, designs the shoes and runs the factory back home in Naples, Italy.
“The sandals call out, ‘Show me off wherever you go!’ ” You can dress them down Or you can dress them in your own way thanks to the cobblers experience (choose flat or wedge heel, from nearly 100 styles, and embellishments like coral cabochons, gemencrusted seahorses, or dangling charms). Sandals have become a way of life for the Tesorone Family.
